    Repeat

Another warm day in the city.

    Perfect for a long walk.

Spring & Trees & Blue Skies

Spring is finally here. International Day of Forests too and, since tinyMovieStar is already a big fan of trees (mainly the leaves part), we took her to the park.

The day didn’t start at the park, though.

The morning walk radius has expanded again, this time we all went as far as the Cathedral. It used to be near impossible to visit, always so crowded.

The tiny place was always packed with tourists, their buses, tuk-tuks and people selling all sorts of stuff to the masses. Today it was close to silent, and much more enjoyable. The way there was also brilliant, taking us through streets we hadn’t visited in a while.

We then walked back home, and the little one had prepared a huge surprise for us: a few more steps! This time it seems she’s enjoying the exercise, and plans to stick to it. It is amazing. She stumbles towards us, struggling with her balance, practically falling over, and yet a HUGE grin on her face. She’s so so proud of it. And we are too.

After lunch and nap we left for the park, again, where she’d walk a bit more and played with dogs.
She is still, thankfully, not afraid of any dog, regardless of size. It’s great watching her interact with them.

We met the most amazingly well trained dog, Oscar, complete with dapper human, and a Louis Vuitton leash! The gentleman quietly asked Oscar to sit by tinyMovieStar’s side, and he did. She proceeded to pet him vigorously. A minuscule Boxer Terrier was next in line, feistier, and not interested in playing with her. He had eyes for the ball only. Not to worry, we were soon joined by a baby boxer, and this one really enjoyed licking Clara’s face!

Throughout the whole day, amazing weather. Not too hot, not too cold, just about perfect. A balmy 20 degrees, and amazing blue skies.

    It was a good day.

    Late Afternoon

    Bairro Alto, close to sunset.

    Sometimes everything works out.

    Father’s Day

    We’re celebrating Father’s Day today, my first as… well… a father.

It started with tinyMovieStar’s first work of art, an amazing piece, with colors than are right up my alley. I’m as thrilled as I can be, proud of what she’s becoming.

We then went on with the day, walking as we do. Big one today, with a lot of stops along the way to greet every single bush, tree and leave we find. She seems to love green, and the way the wind makes them dance.

I keep trying to find new streets to walk through, but it’s getting hard after so many hours a day, every day.

    UMM

A Portuguese classic, the UMM Alter.

My uncle, and godfather, got one of these years ago. I still remember it fondly. After many years he traded it for a Land Rover Defender, and still has that one, but we speak about the UMM from time to time. It was indestructible.

    Not a Soul

Still from this morning, as the afternoon walk was not very productive.

Hoping tomorrow will be a little better for photos, but tinyMovieStar now complains whenever I stop to shoot. She has to get used to her daddy’s rhythm.

    Earthquake Day

We went out again this morning. tinyMovieStar woke up an hour before the usual time, so she was sleepy and very VERY cranky!

She kept moving, trying to free herself, and always nagging. Couldn’t get her to stand still.

By the end of the walk my phone started buzzing, people asking if I’d felt the earthquake. 3.4 on the Richter scale, so that’s a lot milder than tinyMovieStar’s shaking around. I didn’t feel a thing.

    Today

The happiest day in my life. March 17th.

The day I was not expecting to have, the day when my life started again.

We were surrounded by a few of our family members, and ton of people who had become family along the way.

We were happy then, and that happiness has stuck.

    I’m the luckiest man alive.

    City View

Another sticker hunting walk, missed the regular photos again.

Old, older and newish. That’s what I have to share from this morning.
