Meeting Ulysses
Meeting Ulysses
Everybody was talking about the app. I found references to it everywhere, rave reviews, people loved the app so much, “best writing experience on the Mac”,… Voted one of App Store’s Best of 2015 apps (already won back in 2013), I knew it had to be good.
Trying to start a brilliant blogging career, how could I skip the best tool for the job ? I could not. I wandered over to the App Store, and got the Mac version. There’s a update to the iPad version on the way, one that will add support for the iPhone, and I managed to get that one with a considerable discount during the holidays.
Once that one is out, I’ll transfer all my writing to the Ulysses ecosystem (Yeah, I know Daedalus Touch is the current iPhone app, but it’s not the same).
One thing that helped me decide to try this one out was Medium integration. All of my blogging (whatever that means) is now done on that platform, and I can’t wait to try my new tool with it.
Export to ePub, PDF and HTML are of course included, as well as the ability to customise themes and markup settings. There’s a million other features and details in there, all of them well thought out, all of them useful.

There’s also a rather cool tutorial video made for NaNoWriMo 2015 that showcases a lot of features, refreshes your markdown knowledge and saves you some reading. How nice is that ?
